Word of 2016 – Stepping into “Sunshine”

Sunshine

I’m hardly a blue skies and daisies kind of person. However, sunshine stuck out to me as I began to make goals for this year. Sunflowers always face the sun when they are growing. This is going to be a year of growing and expanding in some very surprising, awesome ways. And I need to keep my face turned towards the Son and focused on being teachable and intentional to succeed.

“He dawns on them like the morning light, like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning, like rain that makes grass to sprout from the earth.” -2 Samuel 23:4

Also, sunshine speaks to moving out of the shadows. I’m seeking more social connections this year and putting out more content into the open.  This is exciting–and a little nerve-wracking–but I’m looking forward to engaging more with others and with you, as readers and writers. Please feel free to comment at any time with thoughts or ideas about what you’d like to see!

Last, sunshine as a word and a nickname from in the Eimiror Accords series (often used in a playful, sarcastic way). This is going to be the year that Eimiror Accords: Death Knell sees the light of day, with world-building info, artistic renderings, flash fictions, and all kinds of awesome free things. After waving the flag of world-building, I’m super-excited to let you into this awesome world that I’ve created with illustrator Julia Busko (and my long-suffering, geektastic husband).

Dragon face

It’s going to be a difficult and fantastic experience, and I can’t wait to unveil more over the coming weeks! For now, what are your goals/plans/purposes for 2016? Feel free to share them in the comments.
